About NanoApps

NanoApps is an independent software studio founded and built by Shanmuganathan M.

Each app is narrowly scoped by design, built to solve one problem well rather than accumulate unrelated features. The current catalog includes four free browser-based calculators for India: gratuity, take-home pay, offer comparison, and income tax, alongside two iOS apps: Gratuity Calculator India, live on the App Store, and Income Calculators India, currently in development.

Additional utility and personal apps for Mac and iPhone are planned beyond these. Rather than one large, all-purpose product, NanoApps is growing a catalog of small, well-crafted tools.

The calculators started as a way to answer specific, recurring questions accurately, things like "how much gratuity am I actually owed" or "what will this offer letter really pay me each month," where existing tools online were often outdated, oversimplified, or wrong on the edge cases. Each one is built the same way: work out the exact rule from the source legislation or tax rules, test it against real numbers, and only then build the interface around it.
